Description
This a rather strenuous hike in the jungle and andean vegetation, visiting archaelogical places like Lucma, Rosaspata, Nusta Hispana and villages such as Yupanca, Cosevidayoc and Vilcabamba, to end up in the ruins of the lost city of Espiritu Pampa of the last Manco Inca.

Intinerary

DAY 1:
20:00 P.M. We will depart from Cusco to Chihuanguire by car, which is about 10 hours driving. When we arrive in Chihuanguire, we have the opportunity to sleep approximately 3 hours.

DAY 2:
07:00 A.M: Breakfast. Today we walk in 5 hours from Chihuanguire to the archeological site Espiritu Pampa, which we will visit. This place forms the last house of the last Inca ( Manco Inca) of Tawantinsuyo.

DAY 3:
07:00 A.M: After breakfast we will hike from Espiritu Pampa to Concevidayoc in about 3 hours. A part of the morning will be used to visit EspitiruPampa. After that we continue our hike to Concevidayoc. In this area we will enjoy the tropical landscapes and the huge diversity of flora and fauna. There is for example a big variety of flowers like Gromelias, where these zone is teemed with.. In Concebidayoc we will have our campsite (1100 meters above sea level).

DAY 4:
06:30 A.M: Breakfast. After that we leave Concevidayoc and go to Vista Alegre (8 hours of walking). Here we will see an Inca trail that still hasn't been restored. But it is still intact in the way it has been discovered. We will also see some stones that are transported from Ututo to EspirituPampa. Each stone weights approximately 15 to 30 ton. That is why they are also called ´tired stones´.

DAY 5:
07:00 A:M. Breakfast. Afterwards we continue our hike from Vista Alegre to Ututo in 7 hours. During this part of our trek we will see mountains with a lot of vegetation that is similar to the vegetation of the high primeval forest. In Ututo we will camp.

DAY 6:
07:00 A.M. After breakfast we go from Ututo to Vilcabamba (Huancalle), which will take us approximately 8 hours. In Huancacalle we will stay for the night.

DAY 7:
This day we are going to visit the archeological centers of Ñusta Hispana. The Incas dedicated this place to the fertility of the land and of the woman. Vitcos was a military center of Ñusta Hispana where they controlled the payments for the cities Espiritu Pampa and Vilcabamba. These latters where the places where the last battles between the Incas and Spaniards took place. Rosaspata is the agricultural part of Ñusta Hispana that supported the alimentation of all the surrounding places. Afterwards the Inca trail continues to the next camping site: Ccollpa.

DAY 8:
Today we will walk in 8 hours from Ccollpa to Kelccamchachay. During this part of the trek we will cross a mountain pass of 4678 meters above sea level. Furthermore, we will hike a part of the Inca trail that connects Machu Picchu with Ñusta Hispana.

DAY 9:
We leave Kelccamachay and continue our trip to Yanama (9 hours of hiking). This day we will see impressing quarries of mines, silver and lead. The people who worked there worked for the Jesuits and afterwards for the owners of the Roman family.

DAY 10:
From Yanama we hike to Maizal, which will take us around 9 hours. Again we cross a mountain pass with a height of 4300 meters above sea level. We will also visit the Victoria mines where they explored the minerals silver and lead.

DAY 11:
Our trek continues from Maizal towards Pinchi Unuyoc (Ccoripinchioc) and to Choquekirao (approximately 9 hours hiking). We will visit the archeological centers of Corralpata and later on we cross the Victoria River and the White River. Then we have to climb till we reach the archeological site Pinchi Unuyoc. Further away, much higher, we will arrive at another archeological site named Choquekirao. There we will stay for a whole day to explore all of the ruins and to take some rest.

DAY 12:
This day we continue our hike from Choquekirao to Abuela and walk for about 9 hours. We will enjoy a very impressing panoramic view over the Apúrimac Canyon. We will overnight in Abuela.

DAY 13:
It will take us 5 hours to hike from Abuela to Ccollpapampa. On our way we will cross a mountain pass of 4320 meters above sea level, which is called Acco Puerto. Finally we will arrive at the thermal baths in Ccollpapampa.

DAY 14:
From Ccollpapampa we go to Llactapata, which will take us approximately 8 hours of hiking. Today we will see some waterfalls and a couple of rivers. We will go up to Llactapata where we will visit the archeological center with the same name: LLACTAPATA. From here we will have some views over Machu Picchu.

DAY 15:
After breakfast we leave Llactapata and go to Puente Ruinas, which is a walk of approximately 4 hours. From this place we are going to a hostel in Aguas Calientes to take some rest and to prepare us at our visit of Machu Picchu next day.

DAY 16:
Early in the morning we will visit the old Inca city Machu Picchu and at 3.00 P.M we will return to Cusco.
